Breeding and Migratory Bird Diversity in Iğdır Province (Eastern Anatolia)

The aim of this study was to contribute the knowledge avian diversity and breeding species in Türkiye. Observations were carried out Iğdır Province within a total 40 days spread throughout migration periods 2017-2018. Regional status codes determined for each species. Some winter visitors have also been observed during early stages spring migration. In study, 192 identified belonging 50 families from 20 orders 58 residents, 83 summer visitors, 11 transit migratory birds. According result recording behavior, 52 bird classified as confirmed breeders, 36 probable 70 possible breeders. IUCN Red List, 10 globally threatened (Haematopus ostralegus, Vanellus vanellus, Numenius arquata, Gallinago media, Gypaetus barbatus, Aegypius monachus, Circus macrourus, Aythya ferina, Streptopelia turtur, Neophron percnopterus) observed.
